Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is just around the corner! At Musical Bridges we know just how important moms are and how hard they work. We created a couple of fun Mother’s Day activities you can do with your kiddo! Get to know mom a little better with a sweet fill-in-the-blank style piggyback song. Or start with our all about mom worksheet to give you some ideas of what to incorporate in your song!

Mom and Daughter

You are my Mom - tune of You are my Sunshine

You are my ____ my loving ____

You make me happy when skies are gray

You’ll never know mom how much I love you

Never doubt my love for you

I love your ____I love your ____

You make me happy when skies are gray

You’ll never know mom, how much I love you

Never doubt my love for you

Mom loves _____, and she loves ____

They make her happy when skies are gray

You’ll never know mom, how much I love you

Never doubt my love for you

Create your own song with a personal touch using this familiar tune. The blanks will prompt you to add personal information. The first verse prompts you to add what you call your mom i.e., mom, mommy, mama, mother or any variation! Next you will be prompted to add what you love about your own mom, and in the last verse you will be tasked with add in the things that you mom loves. Don’t be afraid to create some of your own verses. Be silly, be creative, most importantly have fun learning all about Mom!

All about Mom Worksheet

You can use this worksheet to learn more about mom and all of her likes, and what you like about her! This worksheet can be done prior to the fill-in-the-blank songwriting to help inform what you add to the song. Or it can be done as a completely separate activity.

Spend time with the moms in your life and let them know how much they mean to you! Take a little time to learn more about you mom. Us here at Musical Bridges admire and appreciate all that moms do!

Happy Mother’s Day from Musical Bridges!
