New Sensory Friendly Concert at the Nashville Symphony

The Nashville Symphony is hosting their second sensory friendly family concert THIS Saturday 2/10 at 11am. This concert is designed to accommodate listeners with autism and other disabilities that cause sensory sensitivities. Tickets are $23 all fees included.  If you are interested in going visit NashvilleSymphony.org or call 615.687.6400.

This video shows in detail what the day’s activities will entail. Check it out!

As the video references, they’ll have a pre-concert resource fair starting at 10am, an instrument petting zoo, arts and crafts, and much more.

I’m most impressed by the social story they created to pass out to the children.  They made several different versions.  Here’s my favorite: https://nsoumbracomedia.blob.core.windows.net/media/3124/socialstory_withphotos.pdf (Link no longer works).  I hope you’ll click on the link and see.  This version has pictures and words, clearly describing the process of going to the symphony, what to expect, and how to behave.

I hope to see you all there this weekend!
