Happy Father’s Day!

Father’s Day is upon us! At Musical Bridges we know just how important dads are and how hard they work. We created a few fun Father’s Day activities you can do with your kiddo! Get to know dad a little better with a fill-in-the-blank style piggyback song. Or start with our all about dad worksheet to give you some ideas of what to incorporate in your song!

I love my Dad - tune of Farmer in the Dell

I love my ____ so, I love my ____ so

I love my ____ and he loves me oh I love my ____ so

I love my dad’s ____, I love my dad’s _____

I love my dad’s ____ and he love me oh I love my dad’s ____

My dad loves _____, my dad loves _____

My dad loves ____ and he loves me oh my dad loves ____

Happy Father’s Day to you, Happy Father’s Day to you

High Ho, did you know? Happy Father’s Day to you!

Create your own song with a personal touch using this familiar tune. The blanks will prompt you to add personal information. The first verse prompts you to add what you call your dad i.e., dad, daddy, dada, father, pops, or any variation! Next you will be prompted to add what you love about your own dad, and in the last verse you will be tasked with add in the things that your dad loves. Don’t be afraid to create some of your own verses. Be silly, be creative, most importantly have fun learning all about Dad!

You can use this worksheet to learn more about dad and all of his likes, and what you like about him! This worksheet can be done prior to the fill-in-the-blank songwriting to help inform what you add to the song. Or it can be done as a completely separate activity.

son and father

Spend time with the dads in your life and let them know how much they mean to you! Take a little time to learn more about you dad. Us here at Musical Bridges admire and appreciate all that dads do!
